Spanish Dictionary (ASCII)

This dictionary has been modified to Windows format for use with
WinEdt by Juan I. Montijano and his colleagues. The dictionary is
included in WinEdt's dictionary collection on CTAN with the kind
permission of its author Juan L. Varona, who originally compiled it
for use with Excalibur on Macintosh. Please read the information
below for the terms under which this dictionary can be used.

Este diccionario y la colecci\'on de palabras que contiene pueden
distribuirse, modificados o no, sin ninguna restricci\'on, siempre que
no se omita una referencia al autor y esta rese\~na (modificada, si es
necesario, indicando los cambios efectuados en el diccionario). Asimismo,
puede usarse en conjunci\'on con cualquier otro programa, comercial o no,
con dos \'unicas condiciones:
(1) Que en el citado programa se reconozca, en un lugar visible del
programa o del manual, la procedencia del diccionario.
(2) Que se env\'{\i}e al autor, por correo ordinario, un certificado
indicando que esta colecci\'on de palabras se usa en conjunci\'on con
el programa.
Estas condiciones s\'olo tienen objetivos curriculares y de
reconocimiento al trabajo realizado, as\'{\i} como poder seguir si
ha sido de utilidad para otros desarrollos. He empleado un mont\'on
de horas en recopilar este diccionario y me gustar\'{\i}a saber que
no ha sido un tiempo malgastado.
Por lo que conozco, no hay ning\'un otro diccionario en espa\~nol
para ordenador que no sea comercial y que sea lo suficientemente
amplio, al menos con formato ASCII de lista de palabras. As\'{\i}
que espero que este diccionario resulte \'util a la mayor cantidad
de gente posible, y que pueda servir como base para futuras
mejoras.
Por favor, si alguien detecta alguna errata, que me lo comunique a
la direcci\'on jvarona@siur.unirioja.es. Estoy seguro de que hay
montones de palabras reconocidas por la Real Academia Espa\~nola de
la Lengua, o no reconocidas pero usuales, que no aparecen en el
diccionario. Parece imposible elaborar uno lo suficientemente
completo pero, si alguien descubre alguna palabra muy usual no
recogida en el diccionario y me lo comunica, la a\~nadir\'e en
futuras mejoras.

The Spanish dictionary has been elaborated by

This dictionary and the collection of words that it contains can be
distributed, modified or not, with no restriction, provided a
reference is made to the author and also to this description
(modified is necessary to point the changes made in the
dictionary). Also, it may be used in conjunction with any other
program, commercial or otherwise, with just two conditions:
(1) The origin of the dictionary should be recognized in a
visible place of the program itself or the manual.
(2) A certificate should be submitted to the author by ordinary
mail indicating that this collection of words is being used in
conjunction with the program.
These conditions have only curricular purposes and of
acknowledgment to the author's work. They will also allow him to
find out if it has been useful elsewhere. I have spent quite a lot
of time in compiling this dictionary and would be pleased to know
that it has not been a wasted time.
As far as I know, no other large enough, non commercial Spanish
dictionary is available for a computer, at least in the format of a
list of words in ASCII. So I hope this dictionary will be useful to
as many people as possible and will serve as a basis for eventual
improvements.
If you detect any mistake, please tell me at the e-mail address
jvarona@siur.unirioja.es. I am sure that lots of words which have
been admitted by the Real Academia Espa\~nola de la Lengua do not
figure in the dictionary. It looks impossible to elaborate a
complete enough one, but if you find that some usual word is not
present in the dictionary, please tell me and I will add it in
future improvements.
