Description

This package provides a useful menu item for converting old ANSI documents to UTF-8 by simply inserting the Code Page.

Installation

Open the macro file Install.edt in WinEdt, and execute it by choosing Macros | Execute Current Macro.

Uninstallation

Open the macro file Uninstall.edt in WinEdt (also available in %b\Uninstall\ANSI2UTF8 folder), and then execute it by choosing Macros | Execute Current Macro.

Usage

To convert your ANSI document to UTF-8, choose Convert to UTF-8 in the File menu. You will be asked to insert your document's Code Page: insert the right one (e.g. 1252 for Latin 1).

Search for "Code Page" in the help index to get a list of common Code Pages.
