(bibMacros 3.2)
Description
This set of macros assists you in editing and managing BibTEX files. It comes with two interfaces: Either a Popup Menu or a Main Menu. Both contain the following commands:

| New Field | Create a new field | |
| Delete Field | Delete the current field (and copy it to the Clipboard) | |
| Delete Field Content | Delete the content of the current field | |
| Strip Delimiters | Remove delimiters (e.g. for numerical fields) | |
| Strip Inner Braces | Remove braces inside a field | |
| Expand String | Complete the current string (as defined in a @STRING entry) | |
| Complete Field | Complete the contents of a field from other fields of the same type | |
| New Bibliography Entry | Submenu --> Insert a new BibTEX entry | |
| Delete Bibliography Entry | Delete the complete entry (and copy it to the Clipboard) | |
| Generate Key | Suggest a key for the current entry and insert it (overwriting any existing key) | |
| Clean Entry | Remove empty fields, align the lines and call Generate Key, if the key is empty | |
| Clean Bibliography | Do this for the whole bibliography or for the current selection | |
| Sort Bib File | Sort the bibliography database | |
| Extract from Aux | Extract all \cite'd entries into a new bibliography file | |
| Extract Annotations | Extract "annote" fields into separate files | |
| Merge Annotations | Merge annotation files into the bibliography file | |
| Find Entry | Find all entries containing a specified string (possibly a Regular Expression) | |
| Info for current Field | What's this field supposed to contain? | |
| BibTEX Documentation | Open TEXMF/doc/bibtex/btxdoc.dvi | |

| Open configuration file | Open the bibMacros configuration file |
The macros are easily configurable by editing one global configuration file (you don't have to know (almost) anything about WinEdt's macro language).
You can customize, e.g.:
- how the entries should be aligned and formatted;
- whether you want brackets or quotes around field values;
- how the key shall be generated;
- which fields shall be proposed as new fields;
- which fields shall be put in new entry templates.
- Furthermore, you can define all options locally for bibliography files.
In a nutshell: It's a powerful set of macros.
Installation Instructions
Unzip the file in %b\Macros\LaTeX\ and execute the macro _Install.edt to install the menus.
The file bibMacros.pdf explains all commands and shows you how to configure the macros, should you not be satisfied with the defaults.
