| Migration from WinEdt 8 to WinEdt 9 |
If you are migrating from WinEdt 8 to WinEdt 9, read carefully the instructions below.
You will find how to import in WinEdt 9 all your contributions installed in WinEdt 8.
The Migration process is done by executing the command Options | Maintenance | Import WinEdt 8 Settings in WinEdt 9.
If you are migrating from WinEdt 8.2, first execute the Migration process.
Then, you don't have to do anything in regards of the following packages:
- Acronym
- ANSI2UTF8
- ConTeXt standalone
- latexdiff
- latexindent
- VerbatimPlus
- YandY TeX
- To Do
- bibMacros
- FasTeX
- MathGreek
- PostScript
Instead, for the following, the new version for WinEdt 9 must be installed over the old one:
Regarding the following, you have to uninstall them through the macros available in %b\Uninstall\<package>\Uninstall.edt (in WinEdt 9) and then install the new version for WinEdt 9:
The package R-Sweave is unmaintained, so, if you have it installed, you will have to uninstall it in WinEdt 8 before performing the Migration process and install RManager (its successor) in WinEdt 9.
If you are migrating from a version prior to WinEdt 8.2, the above rules apply, except for the following packages:
In regards of DocZoom, follow this procedure:
- Install (in WinEdt 9) the version for WinEdt 8.2.
- Uninstall it through the macro Uninstall.edt available in %b\Uninstall\DocZoom.
- Install the version for WinEdt 9.
In regards of YandY TeX and Floats, you will have to uninstall them in WinEdt 8 before performing the Migration process and install the new version in WinEdt 9.
Finally, regarding VerbatimPlus and To Do, the new version for WinEdt 9 must be installed over the old one.
